  1. Based on the new 4K master, I'm in for The Quiller Memorandum. I hope Twilight Time can either wrangle some of the Network extras, or perhaps record a second commentary to go with the Fox one. Of course, a John Barry isolated score is always appreciated, too.

  2. I'll be interested in how the Twilight Time The Quiller Memorandum compares with the U. K. disc. The River's Edge and The Whole Town's Talking come as complete surprises to me. I have them both on DVD so I'll re-watch them and wait for reviews of the Blu-ray discs.

  3. OMG! The Big Fix – A film high on my list for Blu-ray. I just recently came out from Universal DVD as a DVD-R (MOD) disc. Was holding off on getting that in hopes of it being licensed by someone on Blu-ray. Great choice TT. The other 3 March titles I also have interest in. By the way, Sony The Whole Town's Talking has a 4k rematser also.

The UK NETWORK Quiller is awful probably one of the worst bluray's ever released……….TWILIGHT simply has to be better …..

My mistake, I saw John Ford as director and just assumed it was Fox.

By the way, two other Ford/Columbia titles that have not been released on Blu-ray have 4K transfers now and they are "Gideon's Day" and "The Long Gray Line". I'm hoping that Twilight Time releases those on Blu-ray in 2019.

  6. Personally, I love Quiller, it is a wonderful, smart, thinking person's spy film.

I saw The Big Fix with my aunt and uncle in a theater when it was released and so have a lot of nostalgia for the film. It is, in my opinion, an excellent film with a lot of heart and excellent performances.

Any John Ford film is essential, in my humble opinion.

The River's Edge is the film I am least familiar with of this bunch.

You're going to love Ray Milland.;)

  8. The Whole Town's Talking for sure! I'm content with my DVDs of Quiller Memorandum and River's Edge but I'll wait on the reviews and a possible sale to decide on possibly upgrading. Hated The Big Fix!

  9. All 4 are great choices. Especially excited about THE WHOLE TOWN'S TALKING. But QUILLER & RIVER'S EDGE are amazing, unique and innovative films. Those of you who haven't seen THE RIVER'S EDGE yet are in for quite a treat.

I don't remember it being as bad as that. I'll re-watch it tonight to check if it needs replacing!

Gideon's Day has been released on Blu-ray by Sony themselves. They used the title Gideon of Scotland Yard

  12. Great news on THE BIG FIX! A couple of the others look interesting also. Another John Ford is always welcome.

Well, Dreyfuss certainly comes across as an arrogant prick with a terrible hairdo, but I've always rather liked the film anyway.

Thanks for the heads up as I didn't realize it has been released since 2016 which leaves The Gray Long Line as a TT possibility.

Edit: I forgot about the following thread.

I think Twilight Time *hinted* that The Long Gray Line will be coming from them at some point.

  14. Uh, unless it’s a joke (which I would never rule out) its “THE River’s Edge” (the film being released on TT), not “River’s Edge” (the film depicted in the picture that heads up this thread).

I watched the Network disc last night. You're right: it's very bad, although strangely it didn't prevent me from enjoying the film. I'll be upgrading to the Twilight Time disc from a new 4K transfer.

The same thing happened on the Brian De Palma Obsession thread. They used a pic from his film Passion for that.

  17. THE WHOLE TOWN'S TALKING is one of those Columbia's (as is THE BLACK ROOM) that heretofore has only been shown with reissue titles either in whole or in part. Any word on if they have the original titles to TOWN?

The wrong RIVER'S EDGE is pictured at the top of this post.

Why is it wrong? This is from their Facebook account.

  19. Yeah, I see a big image at the top of this post from Tim Hunter’s 1986 film RIVER’S EDGE with Keanu Reeves and Crispin Glover, not the 1957 film THE RIVER’S EDGE that’s actually in this announcement.

    Vincent

  20. Well Whole Towns Talking is a must for me. As is Quiller Memorandum. The River’s Edge ,if it’s the Milland one ,will also be a must for me. A very good film . Big Fix when and if there is a big sale. A nice slate of films .
